Campaign Overview
Campaign to Protect South Point Higgins and Coast Guard Beaches
The campaign to protect the two island beaches was initiated in January 2006. The beaches are highly valued by locals and visitors for ecological, historic, cultural, scenic, and recreational attributes. KBA's goal is to raise awareness of funding needed to acquire these two properties. Ketchikan Outdoor Recreation and Trails Coalition and Southeast Alaska Land Trust are willing partners and advisors in this effort.
